In case you hadn't already guessed, I am one of those people who is not afraid of making a fool out of myself. Maybe it has something to do with my theater background or just the fact that the older I get the less I care about public opinion. Either way I will do what is required to get things started. Saturday was a little slow. We had tons of traffic and a great location but it seemed like no one was stopping. So I took the matter into my own hands and donned the majorette hat we had brought and marched up and down the street in front of our venue. We got a lot of smiles and I don't know if it helped business any but the vendors had a good time anyway. The weather was actually pretty nice. After a few raindrops in the morning the rest of the day was quite pleasant. We did end up making our sales goal and we got to see some of our regular customers who took the time to look us up. The time went much more quickly than it sometimes does at our indoor sites and I think the first week of Vintage Chicks Summer Camp will be remembered as a success.

Our tent went up without a hitch. Thanks to all of our practicing. The decor turned out to be cheerful as well as practical and our customers seemed to really appreciate our lay out. We sold a lot of our Big Ass Cookies and as usual the Crispy Rice treats were a big fan favorite. I think they are portable comfort food we remember from childhood and our customers just seem to love them. We will definitely do more of these. It is a great chance to spend time on our business and the location is perfect and you never know when an impromptu parade may spontaneously occur. A good day was had by all.
